A man has been arrested for trafficking in pangolin scales in Bertoua. He was arrested during an operation carried out by wildlife officials of Lom & Djerem Divisional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife with the technical support of a wildlife law enforcement body known as the Last Great Ape Organisation (LAGA).

A wildlife trafficker has been sentenced to more than a year in prison by the Bertoua Court of First Instance for trafficking in pangolin scales.

A city council worker in Kribi has been arrested for the illegal possession and trafficking in a mandrill. He was apprehended on July 7 at the Dombe neighbour. He was arrested during a crackdown operation carried out by wildlife officials of the Ocean Divisional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife, in collaboration with the Gendarmerie Company.

A woman has been arrested in Mintom in Dja and Lobo Division for trafficking in a baby mandrill. She was arrested during an operation carried out by wildlife officials of the Dja Biosphere Reserve, in collaboration with the Gendarmerie Brigade of Djoum.

Four people have been arrested in Balessing, in the Menoua Division for trafficking in leopard and crocodile skins. A fifth suspect of the gang is on the run. They were arrested last weekend during a crackdown operation carried out by wildlife officials of the Menoua Divisional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife in collaboration with the Gendarmerie.

A man has been arrested in Dimako for trafficking in pangolin scales. He was arrested during a crackdown operation carried out by wildlife officials of the Upper Nyong Divisional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife in collaboration with the Police of Abong -Mbang. He was apprehended at his home with close to 60kg of pangolin scales packed in a bag, as he was just about to go out and sell the scales. LAGA, a wildlife law enforcement organisation technically assisted officials during the operation.

A notorious wildlife trafficker has been arrested for unlawful possession of ivory tusks in Bertoua. He was arrested alongside another trafficker during an operation carried out by wildlife officials of the East Regional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife following investigations into wildlife trafficking spanning the North and East Regions and the Central African Republic.

Two human parts traffickers were arrested in Foumbot during an operation carried out by the Foumbot Gendarmerie brigade and the Foumbot Forestry and Wildlife Control Post.

Two soldiers and an alleged wildlife trafficker have been arrested in Yaounde for pangolin scales trafficking. The two soldiers, a sergeant, formerly working with the Presidential Guard, and a navy second class soldier were arrested by elements of the Odza Gendarmerie Brigade and the Mimboman Gendarmerie Company.

Three people have been arrested for elephant ivory tusk trafficking in Douala in the Littoral region. They were arrested during a crackdown operation carried out by the Littoral Regional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife in collaboration with the Police. The operation was also carried out with the technical assistance of LAGA, a non-governmental organization. They were found with two ivory tusks in the trunk of their car during the arrest.

Three people have been arrested during two separate operations in Yaounde and Lolodorf for trafficking in mandrills. The operations were carried out by wildlife law enforcement officials in both towns. The first operation took place at the Nkoabang neighborhood in Yaounde while the second at Lolodorf where mandrills live were seized.

A man was arrested in Bandjoun on February 24, 2020 by wildlife officials for trafficking in five leopard skins. He was arrested at a filling station when the car he was boarding stopped at the petrol station for fuel. The arrest was carried out by the Koung-Khi Divisional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife in collaboration with Bandjoun gendarmerie brigade. A non-governmental organization called LAGA provided technical assistance during the operation.

The son of a former finance minister has been arrested alongside four others for trafficking in wildlife products. They were about to carry out an illegal transaction involving the sale of two ivory tusks when wildlife officials arrived the scene at the Omnisport neighbourhood in Yaounde. The arrest was done during the crackdown operation led by the Centre Regional Delegation for Forestry and Wildlife in collaboration with the Ngousso Gendarmerie Brigade in Yaounde. A nongovernmental organization called LAGA technically assisted the operation.

A successful operation carried out by the Moungo Divisional Delegation of Forestry has resulted in the arrest of three alleged traffickers in totally protected wildlife species in Loum in the West Region. The suspects were arrested on July 24, 2019, trying to sell four leopard skins. A motorbike they used for transporting the skins was seized alongside the four skins.

A Garoua-based policeman has been arrested in Yaounde in connection with the killing and trafficking of wildlife products at the Bouba Ndjida national park. The police constable was arrested at his hotel room in Odza, Yaounde with an ivory tusk, a leopard skin and 5 lion skulls. The arrest was carried out by the centre regional delegation of forestry and wildlife working in collaboration with the Odza gendarmerie brigade. A wildlife law enforcement support body known as LAGA provided technical support during the operation.

Four people have been arrested with an estimated 2 tons of pangolin scales and about 200kg of ivory in Douala, during a crackdown operation carried out by a team comprising wildlife and police officers. The four traffickers were found in possession of an illegal consignment of pangolin scales and ivory that was transported in two vehicles. The four were immediately arrested after police checked and found out the contents of the cars.

The biggest crackdown on organized trafficking ring in Cameroon this year so far!

Four people have been arrested in connection with the trafficking and illegal sale of pangolin scales in Yaounde. The four, including a policeman, were arrested during an operation carried out by the Centre Regional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife in collaboration with the police that found them discussing the illegal sale of the pangolin scales that were loaded in two cars. The operation was carried out with the technical assistance of LAGA, a wildlife law enforcement support body.

On 18th August 2018, the wildlife officials and judicial police officers in Douala, busted a an international network of an pangolin scales traffickers when 6 people were arrested with about 718 kg of pangolin scales. The operation was carried out during attempts by the traffickers to sell the pangolin scales.

Two suspected chimpanzee traffickers have been arrested in Douala for unlawful possession of a chimpanzee during a crackdown operation carried out by the Littoral Regional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife. The two who transported the animal hidden inside a carton box where arrested as they attempted to sell the 3-year old chimpanzee.

The Littoral Regional Delegation for National Security has arrested 2 wildlife dealers in Douala for trafficking in 1 ton of ivory about to be exported to international black market. The Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife in collaboration with the Judiciary and LAGA is establishing a case file against these ivory traffickers who are now behind bars. This, in conformity with the law of 1994, governing the wildlife sector in Cameroon.
